“Where is beauty to be found?”

“When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? In great things that, like everything else, are doomed to die, or in small things that aspire to nothing, yet know how to set a jewel of infinity in a single moment?”
Muriel Barbery, The Elegance of the Hedgehog

Tea is one of those beverages that is fitting for any scenario in life. You can take it to class in a fancy thermos. You can bring it to your therapy sessions. You can make a cup for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can brew a cup when you are cold, or ice it when you’re hot. A cup of tea in the evening is delightful right before bed. And no matter what your tastes are, there’s a flavor to suit the most diverse palate.

I saw this mug at Marshall’s and had to buy it. Not only does it have to do with cats, which I love, it also has a pun to my name, Kat. The sentiment behind the quote is nice too, and true. Attitude is everything! I’m addicted to collecting mugs, and while I saw four or five I wanted to add to my collection, I decided to stick with this one because I loved it so much. I drank my nightly green tea out of this mug last night and it was such a good experience. It held a lot of liquid and kept the tea warm for a long time.

It is true, beauty is often found in the small moments of life. Something as simple as sipping warm tea in the evening with a good book or writing session is enough to calm the soul.

What’s your favorite kind of tea? I love green tea and Twinings brand teas. Do you have a favorite mug you use? Let’s talk about tea!

Take care, and don’t forget to take your medications
