Whale, whale, whale, what have we here?
The FabFitFun starter box finally arrived! I was lucky enough to get a free starter box through one of the ladies facebook groups I am a member of. All I had to do was pay for shipping. I had my eye on this subscription box for a while but had mixed feelings because of some of the reviews I read.
I can absolutely say that I was blown away by the quality of this box. Many reviews online said that the items were junk and could be bought from Marshall’s, which, first of all, as far as I know, the items in this box are all first runs whereas items found in Marshall’s are overstock or items that did not sell in stores.
Second of all, I know what I signed up for. I didn’t subscribe to a Prada box. I know the items in here are ones you can buy in stores. The point of the subscription box is not to wow you with really expensive items. The point is that you can get a surprise mixture of fun girly things delivered to your door every three or four months without shopping around and having to pick the items out yourself.
Who has time for that? Not me, and I’m sure not several other women who may be stay at home moms, work six days a week, or don’t like putting on pants to run out to the store. Not to mention, this makes a great gift for girlfriends, sisters, and even moms when you don’t know what else to buy them for their birthday or the holidays! (Wink, wink, guys. They will love it. Trust me.)
Fabfitfun is a subscription box that offers full-sized beauty, fashion, fitness, tech, and lifestyle products. The box is seasonal, so it comes out four times per year. The box retails for $49.99 per season, and the contents are valued at over $200!
In The Starter Box
The first item in the box was the Ahava deadsea water mineral hand cream. Weighing in at 5.1 fl. oz, this is a full sized hand cream which is paraben free and safe for sensitive skin. This item is also cruelty-free and vegan! The scent to this cream is subtle, not overpowering like some other hand creams, and leaves your hands super soft. This will be great in the winter months! This item retails for $33.00.
Next we have the Spongelle Freesia Pear Body Wash Infused Buffer. I can’t wait to try this out. The infused sponge cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates, and is designed for multiple uses from one sponge. This sponge is also cruelty-free, vegan, and retails for $16.00.
One of the coolest things in the box is the Free People x Understated (Vegan) Leather Travel Eye Mask with a removable non-toxic cooling insert. I love the muted colors on this eye mask. As someone who rarely uses eye masks, I am excited to give this a try. This retails at $40.00.
Lastly we have the Summer & Rose Brittany Tote. Again, vegan leather, this item is a full sized tote that will be perfect for a trip to the beach come summer. This bag is great quality with sturdy rope handles and two interior pockets to carry your cell phone, wallet, or other necessities. This tote retails for $54.00.
The total retail value of this box is $143.00. As you can see, not so junky, right? I went ahead and subscribed after seeing the items in the starter box. It will be fun to receive some surprise girly items in the mail every season. But hey, I get it…subscription boxes can be expensive.
